The
Bio Dome is a patented mechanical trap providing the
most advanced environmental solution for urinals. The Bio
Dome waterless urinal system allows for the manual or
automatic flushing to be turned off - daily water saving
compared to flushing urinals and mechanical failure, which
equates to 1000's and 1000's of liters saved per anum, a
flushing urinal uses +/- 150 000 liters of water per anum on
its own. Encased in the Bio Dome is a fragranced
biological block,
technology needed to ensure that our waterless urinals do
not end up with the same unpleasant odours as traditional
urinals or other waterless urinals.
The Bio Dome waterless system has an odour locking device,
built-in bottle trap, biological enzymes and a pleasant mint
fragrance.
Urinals operating the Bio Dome system still require a
"once-a-week" manual water flush to remove the Biomass (one
liter of water poured down urinal per week).
Biomass can be explained as the slurry found in the waste
pipes or imagine a cup of tea with 50 teaspoons of sugar. A
rinse is required to assist with the dissolving and removal
thereof.
Turning off the water supply to a urinal will
improve the carbon footprint of the business or building. It
has been calculated that for every cubic meter of water
saved, 0,4 Kg of CO² is saved and based on average water use
on a traditional urinal, the saving is > 53 Kg per year.
Multiply that by the number of urinals within the building
or within the group or each building and the saving is
significant.
